Well, this is embarrassing.
One of the LRT1 trains in Manila, Philippines continued its operation despite having a door that doesn’t close. The incident happened Thursday, 10th of March 2016.
James Cubelo, a student from the Technological University of the Philippines, boarded the said train at Central Station around 6PM. He took videos of this crazy experience and uploaded it on social media. The posts became viral since then.
As you can see in his videos, the train traveled from Central station to Pedro Gil station (two stops) without closing its door. No attempt was made to ensure the safety of the passengers during this entire ordeal. Someone could have fallen and gotten hurt. When the train arrived at Pedro Gil station, the LRT1 management finally checked the doors and temporarily resolved the problem.
This morning, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) apologized and assured the public that they will look into it and do something about the issue.
