I used to hate Hermès and Prada and other luxury brands just because of the fact that they are super expensive, so expensive that you could feed a whole third world country — just like what Lilly said in Princess Diaries.
Remember this scene?
But anyway, I now hate Hermès and Prada even more because they are NOT CRUELTY-FREE brands! The materials they use are bought from suppliers who butcher and slaughter animals, such as ostriches. PETA investigators were able to get a footage inside the largest slaughter companies in the world located in South Africa. Aside from Hermès and Prada, these slaughterhouses also supply ostrich skin to Louis Vuitton and other top European brands.
The bags may look oh-so-pretty, but when you see how horrible the process is, you might change your mind about buying these bags. But if you’re heartless, I don’t think these images won’t matter to you… (oh come on, nobody’s that heartless).

Why do people do this for fashion?!
Here’s what you can do according to PETA
Your choices make a difference—the easiest thing you can do to help animals is never to purchase ostrich or any other animal skin or feathers. If we all stand together, we can end the demand for animal skins in the fashion industry and stop animal suffering! Share this post with your friends and family, and encourage them to opt for cruelty-free fashions.
So please, stop supporting these luxury brands that are not cruelty-free!
